My top five websites

The internet is a very useful medium (platform) for finding everything and anything you could possibly want or need in life. Whittling down my favourite websites to only a select five was a difficult decision but rest assured these are some of the finest sites the internet has to offer:

1. boohoo.com – Boohoo offers the latest fashion at affordable prices. The site navigation is easy and the layout is attractive so finding the perfect outfit is made simple. The clothes sold on the website are for women and young girls, out of most of the current fashion websites this site is ideal for students living on a budget.

2. readitswapit.co.uk – Reading is a passion of mine and I usually find a new book in a high street charity shop. However, the internet has transformed my ‘environmentally friendly’ way of recycling books and has created an amazing website to swap books with other fellow book lovers. All you have to pay is the postage. Brilliant.

3. guardian.co.uk – As a Communication and Media student I am always a keen reader of the Guardian’s ”media section’. The paper itself is an interesting read and with numerous categories there is always a thought-provoking article to read. The website is accessible for all and offers sections for readers engagement (comments and forums).

4. imdb.com – This website is brilliant for answering, so “Who was that actor?” or “What year did that film get released?” IMDB gives user-friendly ratings and summaries of various films and television shows whilst also supplying vast amounts of information about the actors/actresses involved. Bookmark this website!

5. bbc.co.uk/radio1 -Radio one is the perfect website to keep up to date with the latest songs, artists or bands. On a Sunday you can listen and watch the countdown of the top forty singles and the website provides DJ’s information and playlists of shows. If you miss a show, podcasts are available. Radio one is also very informative and up to date with the latest news, events and reviews.
